this is a really late post.

just had my bday three weeks ago. unfortunately, right after the fun, i caught an unknown virus and was admitted at a hospital, i missed our prelims exam week..and now, i'm having a hard time catching up with what i missed.

i felt happy, i got what i wanted on my bday. no, i didn't receive that digital camera i've been eyeing on for the longest time or that purple dress i can't stop dreaming about. i made myself happy by celebrating my 23rd with people who are special to me--L, N, and R. though eating out was a bit pricey (i'm not earning yet..), it felt right at that moment since it's been almost 2 months since me, L & N have last seen each other. it's quite weird, knowing that you're all in the same place but seem to have no time to have the usual chitchats and food trips. at last, we had lots of time to update each other about our lives. as usual, L served as the night's emcee, which was fun since she had lots of thing to blabber about, especially when it comes to her new blogging addiction.

the night ended with sweet farewells and promises of seeing each other more often, which i think didn't materialize since all of us are busy with our so called careers. hopefully, we'd see each other again before christmas or before the year ends..=)

it's my birthday. happy??? nahhh.. more of anxious, tired and worried. prelims are due next week. so i have to put more 'effort' into my studies, as if i didn't give my best last exams. med school is now stricter than usual (i wonder why..=p) so here i am, studying on a supposedly happy day..waahhh. adding to that gloominess is...secret. haayy.

new addiction

releasing my inner talent! hahaha! not sure if it's a talent or a frustation, though. hoarseness voice aside, i'm just enjoying this new found "hobby" while i can. they say, it runs in the family..not the talent ha, but the addiction to this kind of thing. i even forcibly made my brother agree we buy a headset with a microphone just to feed my craving for this. haha! thanks albert for introducing this new technology!:)

somewhere, i'm not over, the graffiti

i think i'm super enjoying the graffiti effect..i made another one..this time, with my other brother's name not on a brick wall, but on a solar wall! yey! upgraded na! hehe.

of course, i'm a good ate so i also made batchoy one. hehe. he might get jealous if only his kuya had this kind of wall. so...to prevent "sibling rivalry" hehe...

i'm not sure but i think this was the solar wall they made for the Beijing Olympics..see, China's not all bout melamine & bikes! high tech na rin!:)

graffiti effect

yipee! i learned another simple trick on photoshop. the grafitti effect.


i tried to vandalize my brother's name on the wall, without him getting caught by the police. he was happy, making a note that he'd post this pic in his friendster account so that his classmates would envy him.


from now on, i promise myself that i'd learn at least one photoshop trick per week. that would make me know at least 48 photoshop tricks a year!:)

can't wait to watch UPCAT the Movie. i guess it's quite explanatory what this film is all about. can't help but recall my own UPCAT experience. like the character in the trailer, this is the only college entrance exam i took..do or die jud. fortunately, i passed the exam..of course, with the help of pisay's saturday review classes. actually, what they taught us in the review are more difficult than what were given in the exam. but i guess it was a big help, since most, if not all, of us passed the said exam.

the night before the exam, i recalled having a sleepless night, maybe due to anxiety for tomorrow's big day. my mother made me bring cookies and bottled water, thinking that food will make me full that i'd be able to answer correctly. i never ate them during the exam. i was too busy concentrating on the questions, shading the circles, minding the time..in short, i was in panic. hehe. but panic, i guess, was on my side that day. for i answered all the questions, and even had time to review them.

i also saw my high school alma mater's Pisay the Movie with Batchoy on TV last sem break. it was heartwarming, the characters were endearing and it really depicted the essence of being the so called "cream of the crop". though it was entirely shot in Diliman campus, Pisay students and alumni from other campuses can still relate to the stories of the different characters in the film. UPCAT the movie is quite more exciting for me, though, because the film was shot in UPLB! cool noh? surely, i'll miss LB more once i'll watch this film. :)

symbiosis

R and I have been experimenting with taking pictures using his Nikon D60. Actually, i don't have any idea about SLRs until he thought me some basics. I, on the other hand, am learning some photoshop tricks so that i could also teach him how to edit the pics he took. symbiosis. hehe. pics here--his shots, my editing. :)

one more sem.

second sem just started. one more sem and i'm gonna be slaving myself in the clinics--seeing more patients, extracting more histories & doing more  PEs.

this sem is even tougher than the previous one. same clinics time of 7am-11am, but almost all our classes will be till 7 pm. lots of challenges this time, with the addition of 4 new subjects (derma, rehab med, radiology, community med) on top of the previously hard subjects. worse, we now have half day saturday classes in addition to the usual five days. barely a week into 2nd sem and we'll have our first surgery quiz on monday. here i go again, staying through wee hours of morning reviewing anatomy, memorizing cancer staging, surgical indications and thinking of what would be the most probable questions for the long quiz..which are quite unpredictable.

again, i'll unwillingly submit myself to reading lots of chapters in Harrison's and in the end of the sem, get the grade i think i don't deserve. maybe i'm just too lax, or just too confident about myself that sometimes, i think that scanning my books is enough. one more sem..so much things to do in a little time. 

finally, fashionable crocs!

crocs are everywhere! however, many people (including me) do not find some of their designs classy or even wearable. though comfy and long lasting, crocs are quite huge and seem to un-flatter our beautiful toes. but recently, i chanced upon this website featuring unbelievable new crocs style! a complete turnaround from their previous designs, i think. take a peek..

after friendster and multiply have invaded my world..here comes plurk! my current addiction/pasttime. due to boredom from recent events, i've decided to join plurk! that by plurking, i'd have more "productive" time, less couch potato time, and more sites to maintain..unfortunately though, school starts next week so my karma points would surely get lower--that is if the school's overprotective internet won't allow access to the site. but nonetheless, i'm enjoying plurk till i'm out of school..who knows, my karma points might lead me to nirvana!:)

a girl's BF!

they always say that "diamonds are a girl's best friend" but..for low-key girls like most of us are, it is not so. more affordable diamonds come in the form of shoessss...lots of them! since i don't have lots of dough to purchase ones that i fancy, i just satisfy my craving by constantly checking on my favorite shoe site. :)
just recently, i bumped into Stuart Weitzman's shoe auction! superb shoes! and what's more interesting is that these shoes are made by famous hollywood women..most notably, some designed by my favorite gossip girl actresses!

boredom.

my sem break's quite boring..my sibs still have their classes, i can't be the senorita here since i got no one to bully around. just kidding. i'm just afraid about gaining weight this break, after acting like a professional couch potato for the past 7 days! i guess i'm not used to this kind of lifestyle after years of living in a semi-zombie kind of life that is med. so before i plunge again into hell, i hope i could do these things..

1. make some wall decoration for my room (dorm room & real room)-- i want some pop art-ish kind of decor for my oh so plain room. sooo andy warhol! when finished, my work would hopefully would look like this..

2. another narcissistic move...making a cross stitch of my own photo. but before i do that, i should first download a cross stitch software that would convert my photo into a cross stitch pattern. it's difficult finding that software because it's not a freeware. i hope i'd be able to find one software that would fit my needs.

3. think about what to do next..huhu. after doing those 2 of course!
